In the Shop Again

We dragged ourselves out of bed at the crack of dawn this morning so we could be on the road by 7:30 for our appointment in Phoenix.

Here's where we arrived a half hour before our appointment. Massey's Diesel Repair.

Tom, in the service office took our information, backed us into the shop and started work right away. I love this place.

Doug suspects that the alternator is bad and sure enough, the shop guys pulled it to test it and it was toast. Several hours later a new one was located and installed.

We finished off our afternoon with a nice visit with my son Mick. He lives only 7 miles away from where the work was done so it was just a hop, skip and a jump to his house.

The trip back to Countryside RV was easy even though we were in the middle of rush hour. Traffic was light and the HOV lane suited us to perfection. All in all, the day went well.

The Big City

Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. We have been busy and running ever since we arrived.

Our trip from Wickenburg was perfect and when we arrived at Countryside RV Resort we found it almost empty. I guess it's getting too warm for the snowbirds here. We have stayed at this park several times now and it has been difficult getting reservations, but this time we have it mostly to ourselves.

In between visiting and shopping and eating, we decided to defrost the refrigerator/freezer that was way overdue. It has been giving us an error code 13 and Doug researched it to find that we need a new heat tape. So, the refrig is in pieces all over the coach and we will order a new part this morning and have it shipped overnight. What a pain.

Tomorrow, we'll be heading to the west side of Phoenix to have the alternator repaired. There's a highly recommended shop that can do the work while we take the car and visit Mick, only 7 miles away. Hopefully it will only take the day to fix.

It's been a whirlwind couple of days and as usual the weather is gorgeous. We have been able to run the air conditioning because we have 50 amp electrical service here. That's a treat! Still, we are looking forward to going back to Wickenburg's peace and quiet, as well as getting back into the desert looking for gold.

Road Trip

We thought that we would be sitting still in Wickenburg for the summer but have decided to take a road trip.

The utilities were unhooked, the neighbors notified, the fuel tank filled (ouch!) and everything stowed. We're off for Apache Junction for a few days. Two of our favorite people are in town and requested our presence for a visit. Yayyy. A day visit would be nice but several days is even better.

Heading east on hwy 60 on a beautiful 90 degree day with lots of scenery to enjoy. Hooray for us! I'm sending this blog as we roll down the highway. More to come.......stay tuned......
