Lake Easton

We got a bright and early start leaving Crescent Bar (12:30) on our way to Lake Easton.

I have always wanted to stop at the Wild Horses Monument near Vantage, so this time Doug pulled into the scenic rest area.

We followed the path to the edge overlooking the mighty Columbia River. With such perfect weather, the view was spectacular.

Looking towards Vantage was an equally magnificent sight.

However, I was disappointed to find that the Wild Horses Monument was behind us on the mountainside. They were so far away, it was impossible to get a decent picture.

Following a stop at a small fruit stand, we finally arrived at Lake Easton around 3:15. The sites are shady and the temperature is about 15 degrees cooler. Quite pleasant!

Our site is large with a picnic table and fire pit. And there is even a clearing to see the sky for our tv satellite dish. The power is only 30 amp, but with the cooler, shady temps, we don't even need the air conditioner.
