Wickenburg in the Rear View Mirror

Oh my, what a long day. We were up early, excited to be moving, but there was so much to do to break down camp and load the vehicles. Our hope was to be on the road by 12 or 1. Ha ha ha!
It was 4pm by the time we ran errands, packed and said our farewells to friends and neighbors.

Then we watched Wickenburg disappear from view as we headed for Surprise to fill the propane tanks. The rv place that sells propane closed at five and we barely slicked into their lot at 4:55. All done in 10 minutes and back on our way north on the Black Canyon highway (US 17).

It was a lovely drive and we watched the temperature drop as the road climbed into the mountains. It was 117 degrees leaving Surprise and only 92 degrees when we arrived in Verde Valley. Heaven!

The scenery was right out of Highways magazine! Except for the windshield washer in the corner.

We arrived at the Verde Valley Thousand Trails about 7:15 and by the time we found a spot, leveled the coach, hooked up the utilities and collapsed, it was too dark for pictures. In the morning, I will get some shots of our site for you.

My goodness, it feels good to be moving again!
